Abstract
The principles followed in radiation treatment of malignant disease of the oral cavity have been discussed. A report of the treatment of a carcinoma of the gingivae treated with the electron beam positioned by means of an intraoral cone illustrates the treatment procedures. The method developed to guide the application of the intraoral cone, and the technique of fabrication of an intraoral stent which provides direction and fixation of the radiation beam was described.
