An interview with Sonya Bolland: Fostering of children in social care

Abstract

Peter Lloyd Bennett interviewed Sonya Bolland who has had considerable experience as principal social worker in a local authority and more recently Regional Manager in the Adolescent Children’s Trust which was a charity devoted to fostering. Sonya set up the charity in Northamptonshire and from there it spread out through Birmingham, Iiverpool and the Midlands. The aim was to recruit, train and support foster carers in the private sector and set up placements for the most difficult children.
