Abstract

Mr. Selz, formerly Curator of the Department of Painting and Sculpture Exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art, is Director of the Art Museum at the University of California, Berkeley, which moved into its new building this fall. Previous issues of Art Journal have referred to acquisitions and exhibitions of this relatively new college are museum: the Rothko and Savoldo paintings, the David Smith sculpture, the large group of Hofmann paintings, the Rubens oil sketch, the Hundertwasser exhibition (see page 48). Mr. Wilson, the interviewer, is a graduate student in the Department of Comparative Languages and Literatures, UC Berkeley.
