Abstract
This paper describes a practical application of Espejo's Cybernetic Methodology in Regent Engineering (Walsall) Ltd. This methodology makes explicit the need to consider organisational learning about problems in the structural context of the organisation concerned. The interplay between the operational, technical and human content of a problem with the organisational structure is illustrated through the example of 'delivery' in Regent Engineering. The Viable System Model (VSM) of Stafford Beer is used to examine the cybernetics of the organisation.
