Abstract

We present an experimental analysis of the Freedericksz transition in the presence of external noise. To describe the dynamics of the system, we use a model due to Horsthemke, Lefever and Chi. The Langevin equation related to this model has been simulated by means of electronic analogue devices. The results suggest a more detailed interpretation of the Freedericksz transition when a nonwhite external noise is applied to the system.
