Abstract

Under conditions of the existence of two economic systems - the Socialist and capitalist systems - and the peaceful economic competition between them, the comparison of methods and statistical data becomes a matter of great importance. One of the forms of strengthening international cooperation is the convening of various international conferences of economists on these questions. This is suggested by the participation of Soviet representatives in the work of the conference of European statisticians and its working groups. Early in 1960 a session of the working group on industrial statistics took place in Geneva. This group was set up to discuss the document on the plans for holding a World Industrial Census in 1963 drawn up by the UNO Statistics Bureau and to study the plans for carrying out a European census (the collection of data on local units and enterprises, the flow of commodities to the market, etc.).
