Abstract

A 62-YEAR-OLD woman was admitted with unstable angina and diabetes mellitus. On investigation, she was found to have deranged renal function (ie, blood urea nitrogen, 68 mg/dL; serum creatinine, 2.0 mg/dL; and creatinine clearance, 32 mL/min). Coronary angiography revealed 2-vessel disease with proximal stenosis of the left anterior descending artery and midstenosis of the circumflex artery with good left ventricular function. The patient was scheduled for elective coronary artery bypass graft surgery.
