Abstract

Abstract Takayasu’s arteritis is an inflammatory and stenotic disease of medium- and large-sized arteries characterized by a strong predilection for the aortic arch and its branches. Takayasu’s arteritis is an uncommon disease with an estimated annual incidence rate of 1.2–2.6 cases per million. It is most prevalent in adolescent girls and young women. Although it is more common in Asia, it is neither racially nor geographically restricted. This is a case report of a 58-year-old male patient who presented with syncopal attack and weakness in the right lower limb. He had a history of cerebrovascular accident (CVA) 10 years back with right upper limb monoparesis. Patient had feeble pulses in bilateral upper limb and absent pulsations in the right lower limb and left lower limb. Carotid pulsations were absent on the left side. Upper limb Doppler showed dampened and monophasic flow in ulnar and radial artery on both upper limbs. Dampened and monophasic flow in the right leg arterial system and posterior tibial artery of the left lower limb.
