Abstract

This paper describes a unified modular library of programs devoted to the computer-aided design for linear system reduction. The library structure consists mainly of two subprogram packages; the first contains the subroutines which realize the reduction algorithms in time and frequency, the second package tests the obtained reduction quality in order to evaluate the various parameters which characterize the degree of approximation. The interactive adopted packages allow various possible solutions according to the individual situation of the particular structure using a flexible and easily applicable software. An application to a systematic reduction procedure of a linearized power system model is shown. This library is currently used at Catania University for educational, research and CAD purposes.
