Abstract

With the increase in technology and resources, number of web services are available that can meet the similar needs of web clients. Out of the numerous available web services, it is becoming difficult for the web user to choose the correct and relevant web service from among the similar web services. In this paper we have taken the quality of service (QoS) criteria in the determination of most relevant web service(s). All the more exactly, we propose two part combine effort using objective weight calculation method for weight evaluation of each criteria followed by ranking of the web services using well established MCDM methods. For QoS criteria weight calculation "Criteria Importance Through Intercriteria Correlation" (CRITIC) method is used and ranking of web services is obtained by using PROMETHEE-II and "Technique for ordered preference by similarity to the ideal solution" (TOPSIS) methods. In order to show the stability of the proposed method, a prototype of a web services ranking is implemented. The data set of real world "Quality of Web Service" (QWS) is used for the experimentation. On observing the result, it is found that both ranking method perform well also the rank reversal problem of TOPSIS method is get solved by using the CRITIC QoS weights.
