Abstract

The area under study, the Murzuk Basin, is located in the southwestem part of Libya (Fig.1) between 9°E-17°E and 21°N-28°N and covers an area of about 250,000 square kilometres. This study involves the analysis of gravity, and seismic data correlated with four boreholes from the Murzuk Basin, and the surrounding area, and aimed at the delineation of basin boundary faults, estimation of basement depth and the location of merger structures.
