Abstract

This paper describes an integrated computer graphics system based on low cost workstations. It was designed to satisfy the requirements of art and design education, but is of sufficient quality to be of relevance to commercial practitioners. The system consists of off the shelf hardware and software, along with specially written software produced in house. We describe the criteria from which the system was designed, the components of the system, the use to which it has been put so far, the problems encountered, and future plans.
