Abstract
This paper reviewed the report ''Acid Deposition: Long-Term Trends'' by the US National Academy of Sciences. The report assessed the state of knowledge about temporal and spatial trends in acid deposition in North America. The author examined its strong points and weaknesses and concluded that the report could lead to an improvement in current sampling strategies for monitoring acid deposition, making it possible to follow the biogeochemical disruption in an integrated fashion from sources to receptors. 2 references.
