Sloping ground affects the motion behaviour of tractors and implements. A tractor has been provided with instruments with which to measure the effects of slope on drive wheel torque, weight transfer and directional attitude. The instruments are described and reasons for their adoption given. The digital filtering of data to discriminate the effects of slope from those of ground roughness is noted.
