Abstract

At the Geological Survey of Sweden an equipment has been constructed for determination of the inclination and declination of diamond drill holes. The indicator probe, of 35 mm diameter, contains a clinometer wheel and a compass, each having a circular resistance winding, which by means of sliding contact devices are coupled through a 3-conductor cable to a Wheatstone bridge. The resistance measured is a linear function ot the inclination respectively declination angle of the drill hole.
