Abstract

We propose an innovative randomized response estimator that is free from the probabilities of asking the sensitive question and its complement. To utilize the proposed estimator, every respondent uses an independent electronic randomization device, unobserved by the interviewer, which encourages participation by guaranteeing the protection of their privacy. In this paper, such an electronic randomization device is developed, tested through simulation studies, and implemented in a real-world survey.
