Abstract

This paper presents a proposal for a management infrastructure for dynamic tariffs and demand response to support the consumer in an environment of smart grids, in the presence of renewable energy sources and energy storage systems. The possibility of obtaining daily hourly load curves allows the treatment and elaboration of typical load curves, including seasonal ones, to support the management of the own dynamic tariffs, the simulation, and analysis of networks and the planning and operation of power distribution network. Thus, the implementation of dynamic tariffs with the price in real time can bring important benefits, due to an appropriate choice for consumers. In the advanced metering infrastructure necessary for implementing dynamic tariffs in smart grids, this article discusses aspects of technologies essential for its practical implementation, whereby smart meters, communications infrastructure, measured data management system, local area network and operational gateways must interact for the objectives pursued.
