Abstract
Abstract Molybdenum carbonyls encaged in a NaY zeolite were found to form stable butadiene complexes; Mo(CO)4(C4H6) and Mo(CO)2(C4H6)n (n = 1 or 2). These complexes are implied to deactivate the hydrogenation of C4H6 over molybdenum carbonyls/zeolite catalysts. The active species is proposed to be Mo(CO)3 ads.
