Abstract

In this paper, the energy consumption analysis is carried out with regard to the dyeing process using a heat exchanger system which warms some river water using the heat of the waste water coming from the process itself.Using an actual time series of operating data, an enthalpy conservation model has been built taking into account the relationship between input and output temperatures. This model is used to analyze the influence of the water temperature on the steam consumption and the additional benefits of the heat recovery unit. The model-based analysis reveals that the heat recovery unit decreases the influence of both fluctuation of water temperature and an amountof production on the steam consumption, while the steam consumption itself decreases.
