Abstract

In the framework of general linear theory we study the influence of a thin stratification of fields of density and velocity of plane-parallel shear flow on dispersion curves and vertical profiles of modes of free internal gravitational waves. It is shown that an accounting of thin structural singularities can essentially change kinematic characteristics of such waves.
