Abstract

A brief discussion of the principle of the induction flowmeter has been presented, as has a discussion of the considerations necessary for applying the induction flowmeter to the measurement of radioactive liquid flow rates of the order of 50 milliliters per minute. These considerations have been applied to the design of a zero-to-fifty milliliter-per-minute flowmeter. Linearity of response of ± 1 percent of full scale has been obtained in this instrument; stability from hour to hour is also ± 1 percent of full scale. Liquids having conductivity at least as great as that of tap water can be measured without change of calibration.
