Abstract
This study indirectly tests whether restrictions on Medicaid funding for abortion increase pregnancy-avoidance behavior by investigating the restrictions’ impacts on gonorrhea rates. Results fail to find evidence that restrictions reduce gonorrhea rates significantly, thus suggesting that restrictions fail to promote pregnancy-avoidance behavior.
