Abstract
By associating the triple-pomeron coupling gp( t) with the renormalization of the pomeron propagator and requiring the latter to correctly reproduce a dual f o trajectory, as well as the magnitude and width of the ππ diffraction peak, we obtain gp(0) ≈ 1 GeV −1.
