Abstract

Optical Burst Switching (OBS) is a promising switching technology for the next generation all-optical networks. Quality of Service (QoS) is a challenging issue of O BS network and several techniques have been proposed with some limitations. The existing schemes do not guarantees, end to end, loss free delivery of high priority data bursts in Differentiated Services (DiffServ). The proposed algorithm is aimed at loss free delivery of high priority burst inside the OBS network. For high delay sensitive data (most high priority data) a separate wavelength is assigned efficiently on any node by synchronizing all core by a single clock which assures no wavelength contention occurs in the core network. Simulation results shows that proposed algorithm achieves zero percent loss probability for the most high priority data bursts by efficiently utilizing network resources.
