Abstract

Photostructural changes in thin films of amorphous selenium have been studied in situ at 30 K using EXAFS. A dynamical increase in coordination is observed in the excited state accompanied by an increase in disorder. The observed change is attributed to the formation of dynamical interchain bonds under light excitation.
