Abstract
An improvement of efficiency is one of the important technological issues to realize the distribution of SOFC technology. The NEDO has initiated the project on high efficiency and toughness of SOFC cell-stacks from 2018 to 2019. The target of this project is (1) making a concept for high-efficient SOFC cell-stacks over 65%LHV and (2) making a concept for toughness on cell-stacks with power output changing. For the estimation of lifetime and durability of such high-efficient & toughness cell-stacks, rapid evaluation methods were applied to the samples after high-efficient operation. To achieve the target, the formation of the project is kept the same as that in 2013-2017, while a minor change is performed on the members and structure. This project is composed of Industry-Academia-Institute with a close collaboration for discussing the very important and difficult technical issues. An overview of new project is introduced, and technological issues are also introduced and discussed. Preliminary durability tests of cell-stacks suggested a stability against high fuel utilization and power output changing.
