Abstract

The method developed in a previous paper by the author to modify the lowest wave function of6Li is applied here in the case of6He. The lowest harmonic-oscillator shell-model wave function of6He, Ψ0, is modified by applying the Gauss radial function,\(Q = \sum\limits_{i / gives a better approximation to the lowest eigenvalue than / . Considerable improvement has been found by this method.
