Abstract

For high-power wind power converters, space vector modulation (SVM) methods can improve the utilization rate of DC voltage, lower switching losses, but conventional SVM is complicated to achieve. Based on switch function and voltage-second balance principles of PWM converter, switch function area vectors is used to optimize the conventional SVM, the carrier implementation methods in DSP is proposed, which may achieve the unification of SVM and SPWM. The correctness of the improved SVM is verified by simulation and experiment, and the method will be applied to wind power converters. The simulation and experimental results show that switch function area vectors based improved SVM carrier implementation method may have the same modulation effect as the conventional SVM, but simplify the calculation process; at the same time that SVM and SPWM modulation is the same in essence, thus to facilitate the development of different modulation methods.
