Abstract
This paper presents an efficient method to store the user pre-determined parental viewing control (so called rating control) information for the ATSC digital TV software design. In this way, the software operation becomes much simpler. In this paper, the software implementation of parental viewing control system for ATSC digital television using this method is also described.
