Abstract

A reinvestigatio of fusicoccin (FC) binding properties in plasmalemma-enriched membranes of maize coleoptiles has been carried out. Scatchard plots of experimental binding data have been analysed by a non-linear least-squares fitting program and are consistent with two classes of independent binding sites. The K d-values obtained are K d = 3.3 ± 1.6 × 10 −10 M, K d2 = 1.3 ± 0.53 × 10 −8 M and are independent of protein concentration. They are only in partial agreement with those previously obtained by a different method of analysis.
