Abstract
The on-demand beam pulsing system can be used to further improve the non-destructive and fast features in PIXE analysis which are of great importance to art and archaeology. As a continuation of our previous work, the on-demand system has been improved in the significant shortening of the pulse pile-up interval, the better monitoring of the external beam by RBS and the increasing of the beam spot size on target using a diffusing foil. Some preliminary results of analyzing historical paintings are presented.
