Abstract

Utilizing the piecewise linear model of detector response, the nonuniformity correction (NUC) algorithm based on Kalman Filter is extended and improved. It can overcomes effectively the effect that the nonlinear response of Infrared Focal Plane Arrays (IRFPA) detector has on the nonuniformity correction accuracy, so it has high correcting accuracy and extend largely the dynamic range of Infrared Focal Plane Arrays response. Experimental results have indicated that the improved algorithm acquires good effect of the nonuniformity correction. It can resolve the problems of detector offset and gain drift with time, as well as the influence on the detector nonlinear response to the nonuniformity correction performance in some degree.
