Abstract

Group delay is an important indicator when measuring the impact of a transmission network on signal distortion. The differential method is extensively adopted in the group delay measurement, where there is a contradiction between frequency-resolution and precision. This paper proposes a novel method for group delay calculating based on Tikhonov regularization that can solve the problems effectively. The experimental results show that the precision of group delay is improved to picosecond with the frequency step reduced to 10KHz.
