Abstract

A technic is described for direct cannulation of the carotid artery for infusion of antitumor agents. It involves meticulous insertion and fixation under direct vision of an extremely small needle cannula. Twenty consecutive cannulations have been done without a single case of hemorrhage or wound infection. Four of the ten patients received good palliation lasting more than six months.
