Abstract

An improved model of a layered ferrite waveguide is proposed as an extension of a previously studied structure, and the radiation characteristics of millimeter waves in the waveguide are investigated theoretically. The waveguide has a corrugation located on the interface between a ferrite slab and a grounded dielectric slab. The radiation efficiency is shown to be increased in the present waveguide in comparison to that of the previously studied structure with corrugation on the upper surface of a ferrite slab.
