Abstract

This paper investigates, a recent result on buck dc-dc converters affected by mismatched load uncertainty. It proposes a state and disturbance observer such that measurement of inductor current is not required. The state and disturbance observer is combined with integral sliding mode control to regulate the output voltage under varying load resistance and to track the reference voltage. The stability analysis of the proposed scheme is presented. A prototype buck converter is developed to assess the feasibility of the observer−controller combination. The robustness of the algorithm is demonstrated by changing load resistance and the reference voltage.
