Abstract

According to the application features of Intelligent Transportation System based on Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), a simplified topology and an improved handover algorithm in high-speed mobile environment have been proposed. According to Okumura-Hata path loss model, the rxlevel (receive level), speed, distance and the data transmission interruption probability of four polynomials relations, the theoretical optimal handover time can be found. The improved handover algorithm trains and finds the best weights and threshold matrix by using BP neural network algorithm. Finally the output layer decides whether to trigger handover, in order to minimize the probability of data transmission interruption. Simulation experiments show that the improved handover algorithm can reduce 2.29% of the data transmission interruption probability in high-speed environment.
