Welch, D. L. ; McAlary, C. W. ; Madore, B. F. ; McLaren, R. A. ; Neugebauer, G. Abstract Near-infrared photometry of galactic cluster Cepheids is used to establish the J, H, and K period-luminosity relations at mean light. Adopting the distance moduli and reddenings of Caldwell for EV Sct, CF Cas, CV Mon, V Cen, V367 Sct, U Sgr, DL Cas, and S Nor, and those of Pel and Havlen for RS Pup, we find the infrared period-luminosity relations to be as follows: MJ = -2.31 - 3.11 log10 P ±0.11 ±0.12 = MH = -2.46 - 3.20 log10 P ±0.13 ±0.14 MK = -2.52 - 3.22 log10 P ± 0.14 ±0.15 Publication: The Astrophysical Journal Pub Date: May 1985 DOI: 10.1086/163149 Bibcode: 1985ApJ...292..217W Keywords: Calibrating; Cepheid Variables; Light Curve; Near Infrared Radiation; Stellar Luminosity; Stellar Spectrophotometry; Astrometry; Galactic Clusters; Interstellar Extinction; Astronomy full text sources ADS | data products SIMBAD (9)
