Abstract

A simplified model for braided cables is presented. Based on this model, formulas of transfer impedance and inner and outer surface impedances that are different from those of one-cylindrical shells are derived. The formula for the diffusion term for the shield of braided cables is consistent with E.F. Vance's assumed formula (see ibid., vol.EMC-17, p.71-7, (1975)) which is verified by experiment.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
