Abstract
A new approximation criterion is applied to the far-field expansion in the AIM for the analysis of microstrip circuits. Compared to the original method, the proposed algorithm can reduce the distance requirement of the near-field interaction in AIM with a more sparse near-field impedance matrix. The far-field expansion AIM can provide good accuracy for larger lattice size with the reduced requirement of storage and computation time.
