Abstract
This paper proposes an improved 2D arc-star-shaped structure with a negative Poisson’s ratio, whereas the analytical and finite element analyses were performed. Furthermore, the model of the improved 2D arc-star-shaped structure was produced by using selective laser sintering additive technology and scanned after that by using the optical measurement technique on the ATOS COMPACT SCAN 5 M scanner to obtain experimental measurements. It has been observed that for the same geometric parameters, a higher value of the negative Poisson’s ratio is obtained compared to the initial 2D arc-star structure with the most often lower value of relative density, which directly leads to lower consumption of the material.
