Abstract
Ternary sulfur (S)-/silicon dioxide (SiO2)-/nitrogen-doped graphene (NG) composite has been prepared by simple heat treatment. Morphological study illustrates the well dispersion of sulfur in the layered structure of SiO2–NG. The initial specific capacity of S–SiO2–NG composite delivers 1204 mAh g−1, and it maintains the capacity of 716 mAh g−1 during the 100th cycle at 0.1 C rate with 96% of Coulombic efficiency. The enhanced cycling performance of S–SiO2–NG cathode is mainly attributed to the combined contribution from both SiO2 and NG.
