Abstract
This review covers the use of polyamino acids as biocatalysts in asymmetric reactions with focus on the enantioselective epoxidation of α, βunsaturated ketones. The preparation and mechanism of action of the polyamino acids are discussed and related asymmetric reactions catalysed by poly-amino acids and other non-enzymic biocatalysts are described.
