Abstract

Abstract Architecture design is one of the critical issues in system development and implementation. According to the characteristics and functional requirements of the inland waterway transportation system, we have visualized the application scenarios of the Autonomous Waterway Transportation System (AWTS) and constructed the architecture of inland-Autonomous Waterborne Transportation System (i-AWTS) in this paper.Autonomous Waterborne Transportation System (AWTS) comprises intelligent ships, digital transportation infrastructure, and intelligent operation organizations, has the ability of self-perceiving, self-interacting, self-learning and self-executing, and can independently coordinate to realize the function of waterway transportation system. For architecture design, first of all, the logical architecture of the i-AWTS is proposed, the system is logically layered, and the logical relationship of system function realization is designed hierarchically. Then, the organizational architecture of the i-AWTS is proposed. By designing the system information processing process and allocating system resources, the collaborative organization of information and computing, decision-making control, and application services of the system in the cloud-side, shore-side, and ship-side is realized. Finally, The physical architecture of the system is proposed, and the system functions and organizational processes are physically mapped to the relationship between the system objects. Continuous, it realizes the autonomous operation of traffic objects with different levels of autonomy in the system. The i-AWTS provides a new way of river traffic organization and explores its system architecture, which provides ideas for the system construction, organization, and implementation of the i-AWTS.
