Abstract

In this paper, we design an image capture embedded system for remote monitoring, which is based on V4L2 and Web. Cameras, V4L2 interface technology, Libjpeg and Ftplib, which are open source libraries, are organized and work together to complete the functions of YUV data acquisition, image compression and transmission. Moreover, Boa is also chosen to be transplanted into this embedded system as web server, and then the users can also visit the image monitoring system and manage the system by web browser. Chip Samsung S3C2440 is adopted as hardware development platform and Linux as software platform. This designed system has the advantages of low cost, simple use and strong expansionary.
