Abstract

n this paper. a multi-scale image firsion method based on discrete wavelet frame (DWF) is proposed for merging a high-resolution panchromatic image and a low-resolution multispectral image. The downampling process is avoided by using discrete wavelet frame decomposition. It leads to translation invariant and is available for the imagefirsion. The low- frequency part of the panchromatic image is directly substituted by the multispectral image. As a result, the multispectral information of the mzrltispectral image can be retained efectively in thefirsion image. Due to multi- scale method, which is used to enhance the high- frequency parts of the panchromatic image, spatial information of the firsion image can be improved. Experimental results indicate that the proposed one outperforms several other multiresoluton firsion approaches.
