Abstract
A new nitrogen-rich tricarboxylate linker was prepared by “click” chemistry and used for the preparation of a lanthanum-based open metal organic framework. This latter is built of inorganic 1-D rods connected through the tritopic linkers and illustrates one limit of the isoreticular principle, which is related to the partial flexibility of the linkers.
