Abstract

Results pertaining to preparation of Ce3+ doped Sr3B2O6 phosphor and their luminescent properties are presented. The blue light-emitting phosphor is synthesized using sol-combustion process and the annealing treatment can lend the production to more stand-alone. The structure photoluminescence and the optimal synthesis condition of the samples are revealed in the letter. Both the excitation and emission spectra take on an asymmetrical broad band. The samples display two excitation peaks at 292 and 343nm, also two emission peaks at 432 and 468nm after Gauss fitting. The emission intensity of Sr3B2O6: Ce3+ phosphor reaches the maximum at molar fraction of Ce3+ ions is 0.03.
