Abstract

Boredom, curiosity and a passing whim to explore the aperture of their body are usually the reasons why normal children put foreign bodies up their noses. Sometimes a child will place articles in the nostril of a younger child left in it's care. Usually these attempts are innocent enough, although the consequences to the victim may be serious. Accidental insertion of foreign bodies is also known but iatrogenic cause of foreign body in nasal passage is as yet unreported. The usually reported exogenous foreign bodies are paper pieces, buttons, peas, beans, denture, metal piece, plastic pieces, pins and needle etc and the most common endogenous foreign body is a rhinolith.
