Abstract

Abstract As the Institution of Surveyors has established a branch of the profession known as Engineering Surveying, the author thinks that the above subject may be of some interest, coming as it does under that category, and he proposes as an illustration that of the alignment of the Main Northern Sewer, constructed as far back as 1880–1885 by the Public Works Department, under the late Mr. William Bennett, M.Inst.C.E., Engineer in Chief for Sewerage, the author having the sole charge and responsibility of the said alignment as well as the construction of the works of Contract No. 8, in the Rushcutter's Bay area.
